Carrie's First Birthday

Updated: Feb 4, 2022

The Decorations and Outfits

At the end of July we celebrated Carrie girl's 1st birthday! Even though we were still unpacking the new house from the move, I didn't want that to be a reason to not go all out (something I'm known to do when it comes to any birthday's or events).

So with the help of Cecilia Pappas, Avery's best friend Nick, my family, Avery's mom, and Amazon, we pulled off the most picture perfect day ever. One of the biggest requests I've received is for this bubble sleeve cream colored dress and the balloon arch we're standing in front of. So we compiled those, as well as everything else we amazon primed to our doorstep in one list for you with all of the links, here.

The theme we ran with was "boho rainbow" since she's our little rainbow baby but I'm more of a muted, neutrals, and pinks kinda girl. We used brass candlesticks that I've thrifted throughout the years as decor in both the living room and kitchen. We also incorporated macrame banner garland, pom pom and wooden bead garland in the pinks and tan colors, and fresh flowers (something I always try to have in our home.) The last little personal touch was photos of Carrie throughout her first year hung by clothes pins on twine.

As far as the food and cake goes, Avery worked the cheap Walmart grill (until it broke and he moved to the oven) and cooked chicken for us, we had asian salad, roasted lemon and rosemary potatoes, homemade guacamole and chips, and arranged fresh fruit in the shape/colors of the rainbow. I made Funfetti cake and cupcakes (boxed of course because time is everything) and our buddy Nick, stacked and iced the cake for Carrie beautifully.

I bought the happy birthday banner from Amazon and it's linked above and I got the sugar flowers from Michaels craft store.

We were so blessed to have so many friends and family come celebrate with us and can't believe our sweet Carrie girl is already one!
